Scrapbooking with a large, busy print can be a bit tricky, so I’ll share some tips with you for mastering large print scrapbook paper.
When Scrapbooking with Big Print Scrapbook Paper Keep Everything Else on the Page Simple
The best tip I can share with you when working with paper that has a large print is to keep everything else on the layout simple.
The big images on the Stamperia Sir Vagabond paper are already busy, so keep everything else on the page to a minimum.
Group the Photos Together
Grouping the photos together makes them look like one unit, so it simplifies the look of the layout.
I printed these photos in a smaller size, then connected them together. There wasn’t room for journaling on this page, so the multiple pictures tell the story.
Sir Vagabond Simple Embellishment Clusters
There are only two embellishment clusters on this scrapbook layout, because the big print on the Sir Vagabond paper takes up so much space. The embellishment clusters create a diagonal line of site, which helps to put focus on the photos.
The embellishment clusters are pretty simple, but effective. I used a clear die cut from the Sir Vagabond collection layered with a die cut from the die cut pack.
You’ll notice I repeated the same elements in both clusters, because that helps to simplify the look and draw attention to the photos.
Making a Hand Drawn Scrapbook Page Title for Sir Vagabond Big Print Scrapbook Paper
The collection doesn’t contain any letter stickers, so I decided to create my own hand drawn page title.
I started with some cream cardstock, then drew the banner in pencil. Next, I drew in the lettering also in pencil. Once I was happy with the look I outlined the title in black pen, then fussy cut it out.
It was a bit too clean looking, so I aged it a bit by applying some ink to match the scrapbook paper. A foam square under each end gives some movement to the banner.
Working with big print scrapbook paper can be tricky, but by following a few simple guidelines you can master it.
