I wanted to make a cute card for my grandsons who live in another state. That meant I had to mail it, so when I got to be close to Halloween and I hadn’t made a card yet, I had to think fast! What could I make that would be cute yet quick? I looked through my papers and found the Halloween Market paper collection by Carta Bella. I had already used a lot of it on another project but the papers are so cute. So I started looking and realized I had lots of STICKERS left! The stickers in this collection are just adorable and I had enough of them left that I could put together a very cute little card for my grandsons.
I think a lot of times, we crafters forget that we can use those leftover pieces of our collections to put together some very cute little projects and a lot of times stickers are the things we overlook! Stickers can be used for so many things! Kids love stickers! So I got to work.
A slimline Card wold be the perfect size, so there would be room to put together a little scene. Among the stickers was that of a haunted house with trees all around it... A perfect focal point! There are lots of bats included in this collection in addition to pumpkins and all kinds of other little Halloween images.
To begin, I took a panel of burnt orange card stock that matched the collection, and pressed the haunted house and the bats to it.
I used foam dots to pop up some of the tiny bats stickers to give them dimension. I even found teeny tiny little pumpkins that I could put by the front door of the haunted house. Cute!
I selected a sentiment and press it to the other side of the card panel. That finished the front of the card. I then created a card base from black card stock and adhered the orange panel to the front of the card base.
A spooky sentiment sticker was selected for the inside of the card. I pressed it down and that was it! The card was finished!
The great thing about Slimline cards is that they fit into a business size envelope, something almost everybody has around the house. I grabbed my stickers again and selected a few to put on the front of the envelope and my card was ready to mail! This all took a matter of 15 minutes tops!
Halloween is saved!
I got to thinking about stickers and how much kids like them and how really versatile they are. You can put them on gift bags and gift tags, envelopes and cards. So I took the leftover stickers from the Halloween Market Collection and put them inside the Halloween card so that my grandsons could stick them on anything they wanted to…An added surprise!
So the next time you find yourself short on time, remember your stickers! They just might save the day!
Hope you all had a great Halloween!
Love, ReNae
