Prima Magic Love Layout

Hi crafty friends. I know the holiday season is right around the corner, and soon the winter weather will be upon many of us. But, before that happens, I thought it would be fun to rewind to springtime. This past weekend, I attended a scrapbook retreat with my mom. For the entire weekend, we get to focus only on scrapping. Today, I want to share one double page layout that I made while I was at the retreat.

With the little yellow chicks and baby lambs, the Prima Magic Love papers are perfect for an Easter layout. The pastel aqua, pink, and yellow colors give the papers a softer feel. Luckily, I have some photos of my niece and nephews during their Easter egg hunt just waiting to be scrapped!

Piecing the Background Paper with Lace Trim

One embellishment I love using in a layout is lace. The papers are pretty enough as is, but I like to add a bit of texture and dimension to them. First, I cut my 12” x 12” papers approximately 2” from each edge.

Then, using a strip of 12” plain cardstock, I glued the Prima paper to the strip. Next, I will select my lace trim to coordinate with the layout. There is a coordinating trim for the Prima Magic Love collection, but I already used every piece I had. The lace trim is glued on top of the Prima paper, at the edge of the strip.

Finally, I will add glue to the 12” strip and align the large middle section of the Prima paper next to the lace trim. On my first page, the lace trim covers the gold foil accents running vertically down the page. However, for the second page, the paper is cut horizontally to add the lace to the page.

Adding Photos and Embellishments to the Layout

Once the background page is complete, it is time to add the photos to the layout. Each of my photos is first matted on light blue cardstock. Next, I will add two layers of lace to the bottom of each photo. In this step, I first adhere the pink lace to add contrast to the photo mat. Then, I adhere the blue lace to help the photo stand out on the page. Finally, I fussy cut two elements from the 6” x 6” paper pad to add to the first page of my layout.

I hope you have enjoyed this trip back to springtime and seeing how I made this easter layout. And, if you’re anything like me and are a few months behind in your scrapping, the Prima Magic Love paper is still available! Check out the FotoBella online store today to pick up the collection today.

Happy crafting!
