Greetings! Chris here, and today I am excited to share this “Lady in Black”. I created my Lady in Black using my Stamperia Wooden Mannequin Shape from FotoBella.
This was such a fun project to create and play with! I chose to create my lady with shades of blacks and turquoises. But you can choose to make yours in any colors you’d like! Create creative and customize your lady to match your decor!
Supplies needed to create this project
Stamperia Wooden shape cm. 12,5x30 Mannequin
Paints (base color, bodice color and flesh colors), pearls, fabric scraps (2 colors/patterns)
Optional Stapler, glue or favorite adhesive
Creating your Lady in Black
Let’s get started by painting your Stamperia Wooden Mannequin as desired. Paint your chosen base color from the neck down. Mine is a stunning shade of turquoise. Then, paint the neck and head with your chosen skin color.
Paint your bodice as desired. I chose black to match my fabrics.
Gather the fabric scrap on one end, by pinching the fabric back and forth. This will create the center skirt area, and then secure the gather with a stapler to make it easier to adhere to base. ( My fabric scraps are 5 inch square leftover from a quilt I created.)
Adhere fabric to center of Stamperia base as shown. You can use glue or your favorite adhesive, just make sure it has time to dry.
Gather 2 pattern of fabric scraps to create skirt sides, same as you did with the center piece. Then, you can adhere them on both sides of the base.
Continue adding skirts to cover both sides stretch back sides of fabric to cover back of base.
Adhere painted bodice to base, as shown in image.
Add pearl trims to bodice and bottom of skirt.
Paint the crown pieces and fan to match your Stamperia lady.
Attach tcrown and embellished fan to your Lady in Black to finheish your project.
Attach the crown and embellished fan to your Lady in Black to finish your project.
I hope you enjoyed this project and are encouraged to create your very own Lady!
