Hi crafty friends. It’s Kristine and I’m back today with one more project to share using the Stamperia Alice collection. I just couldn’t stop designing with this fabulous collection. As soon as I saw the collection, I knew I wanted to make a teacup. Since my mini album used most of my paper, I will focus today on using the embellishments. More specifically, I will highlight those adorable wooden shape embellishments and chipboard stickers from the collection.
To start my teacup, I found a free template available for download online. First, I printed the template twice, using two different colored cardstock. Once I cut out the pieces, I assembled the teacup following the directions on the website. The pattern does not include a saucer so I made one out of chipboard. It is the same size as the circles on the rice paper for the collection.
Before decorating the teacup, I shaped my chipboard saucer. I wanted the saucer to be uneven and wavy so I bent the edges up in waves. Once done, I used a black alcohol marker to color the chipboard black. Then, I carefully cut out the white rabbit image from the rice paper and glued it to the chipboard. Finally, I inked the edges with distress ink and used gold distress paint along the edges.
Decorating the Teacup
Next comes the fun part! First, I selected the wooden frame and propped it up in the cup with fun fur surrounding it. Then I made a cardboard wedge piece to tilt my teacup on the saucer. I want to see some of the white rabbit below the cup, so I positioned my cup off-center and leaning to the right. The “eat me” sticker is below the cut and resting on the wedge piece that looks like a treat! A glass bottle with red beads and a key finish off the decorations below my teacup.
Next, I added the diamond, spade, heart, and club chipboard stickers around the teacup. Finally, attached the “tea party” sticker on the rim and backed Alice on cardstock before gluing her to the frame. A trio of playing cards leftover from the paper are tucked just above the rim of the teacup.
This is a quick and easy project that would be fun for kids, too! It would make a great party favor, especially for a tea party! Check out the FotoBella online store to pick up the embellishments to make one of your own!
Happy crafting!
