Hi crafty friends. This is Kristine and I am excited to share my first project as a FotoBella Design Team member! In honor of World Card Making Day, I decided to grab my Graphic 45 Fairie Wings paper and make a card to share with all of you.

Preparing the Pieces

To start, I fussy cut images from several different paper sheets. I picked images of the fairies, butterflies, and some of the pink, purple, and blue flowers. Next, I used Tim Holtz distress ink in milled lavender to ink the edges of each fussy cut image. Then, I cut into the flower petals so I could curl and shape them to be dimensional.

The base of my card is made with a piece of 60 lb purple card stock. It measures 4 1/4 inches by 5 1/2 inches. For the frame and sentiment, I used a Spellbinders die set. I cut two layers of each piece to make them more durable. Next, I cut a smaller piece of the purple paper for the center of the smaller frame and used an embossing folder to give it texture. A piece of gold pebbled paper in my stash was perfect as the background of the larger frame.

Assembling the Card

First, I glued the frames to each of the background pieces. I recycled a piece of cardboard on the back of the smaller frame to pop it up from the bigger frame. Then, I added eyelash trim in green behind both frames and glued the smaller frame on top of the larger frame. Next, I placed the frames on the base of my card and positioned my fussy cut images around the frame. Some fussy cut pieces are behind the frames while others are on top of the frames. Tip: don’t glue any pieces yet so you can move them around and position them all where you want them.

Once I was satisfied with my arrangement, I glued the frame to the card base. Next, I glued each of the fussy cut pieces to the card and frame. Finally, I added the “Thinking of You” sentiment last. To finish my card, I used Stickles in lavender on the sentiment, flower petals, butterflies, and fairy wings to give my card some sparkle! To decorate the inside, I placed a flower cluster and another fussy cut fairy image in the bottom corner.
