Carta Bella Welcome Winter Layout

Hi crafty friends. It’s Kristine and I want to share a fun winter layout with you today. Carta Bella’s newly released Welcome Winter paper collection is perfect for those snow-day layouts. As soon as I saw the images in this collection, I thought of my nephews playing in the snow. Luckily, I have several adorable photos to show off these beautiful papers.

Carta Bella Welcome Winter

If you have not yet scrapped with Carta Bella papers, you are in for a treat! The 12x12 collection papers are a nice heavy weight and feature a textured finish. The colors of Welcome Winter are rich and dark blues and greens, with hints of light blue and white throughout. Also, for smaller projects, the 6x6 paper pad is ideal. With this size page, I like to use them for matting photos in my layout. It allows my page to be perfectly coordinated without having to cut into the large papers! Also, the assortment of chipboard accents and chipboard phrases, ephemera, frames and tags, and stickers add so many possibilities on how to use this collection. Even better, the Welcome Winter collection has coordinating brads and enamel dots to add those extra details to any project.

It’s not Winter without a Snowman Layout

For my first winter layout, I want to show off some playful pictures of my nephews with their snowmen. First, I will print my photos to fit three on my page. The sledding picture of the two will be my main image so I will use my metal dies to cut it. The snowmen pictures are 3x4. In order to mat my photos, I will be using the 6x6 papers. For the snowmen pictures, I am using the navy blue and white dotted paper. To help my focal image stand out, I will mat it in the medium blue snowflake paper.

To compliment my Welcome Winter 12x12 paper, I will be using navy cardstock from My Mind’s Eye. From the chipboard phrases, I am using the snow fun banner. This will go on the top of my page with a ribbon behind it and the snowflake chipboard accent.

Next, I cut “Bundle Up” (paper names are on the back sides at the bottom) to 9 3/4 x 11 1/4 for the bottom of the page. Then, the photos are placed on the page.

Adding Embellishments

Now, we need to add embellishments from the Welcome Winter collection to finish the layout. To do so, I will first select a few chipboard pieces and some of the cut-outs from the ephemera and frames and tags packs. I like to add my embellishments in small clusters to offset the photos and balance the layout.

Finally, I will add some enamel dots around the layout to give it a little extra texture. Also, I will use one of the chipboard stickers in the pack of brads to finish out the embellishments. Layering the pieces will give the layout some dimension, too!

Having been given this entire collection from FotoBella, I want to create some beautiful and inspiring projects. I know these papers certainly inspire me when I see them. I hope you have enjoyed seeing my first winter themed layout today. Stay tuned for a double layout in my next post! While you wait, head over the the FotoBella store, grab some paper, and create your own layout to Welcome Winter!

Happy crafting!
